The Reuters news agency reports that Apple announced during the night (between Monday and Tuesday) the temporary removal of the Telegram app from its app store, after an inspection found content that violated the company’s rules prohibiting child sexual abuse material.
According to Apple, the app was returned to the store after Telegram developers removed the prohibited content and blocked the user who posted it. Telegram chose to respond to the affair with humor. The post they published on the X network reads: “The reports of my death were greatly exaggerated.”
According to the indictment, beginning in April 2024 and lasting about 3 months, the accused created several channels on Telegram which he used to sell access to databases containing about 10,000 pedophilic and pornographic contents featuring Israeli minors.
The harm to which the most Israelis were exposed during that year, was hate speech (the publication of derogatory expressions, curses and hate speech based on ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation or political position) – 72% of Israelis encountered hate speech against a person or the public. 66% of the general public reported that they were exposed to incitement – a call to violent action against another based on hatred.
