The video game developer Garena has announced its new title Palworld Online, a ‘spin-off’ of the original PC title for mobile devices, which is planned for launch into later this year in a massively multiplayer ‘online’ format (MMO for its acronym in English).

The studio behind the new game, which operates under license from the Japanese company Pocketpair, creator of Palworld, has shared that Palworld Online is currently in development and it will be a title that “reimagines the depth, freedom and scale of the original title of survival based on the capture of creatures”.

This was detailed in a statement on its website, where it was clarified that Palworld Online will base its game system on crafting, creature capture and cooperative multiplayer options. Specifically, with collaborative player versus player (PVP) and player versus environment (PVE) games.

This is because it will be an interconnected and seamless open world that will form a massively multiplayer online (MMO) gaming ecosystem.

Likewise, the backstory of the game that Garena is developing is based on a new narrative, but with original story elements from Palworld. As for the gaming experience, it has been optimized for mobile with a Simplified interface and optional one-touch controls.

“We want to offer a new mobile experience where players can connect with others and go on adventures”, The president of Garena, Terry Zhao, stated in this regard. Thus, working together with Pocketpair, they have indicated that they are optimizing the game to “enjoy it comfortably on mobile devices without sacrificing the depth, immersion and freedom characteristic of Palworld.”

However, players will be able to travel alongside mysterious creatures called ‘Pals’ and progress as a team at any time and place through their ‘smartphones’ from their scheduled arrival to end of this year 2026.
