Takes around a year and a half Donald Trumps second term already. The 47th US President uses his office for personal enrichment like no other president before him. This is shown once again by the annual financial report from the White House to the US Office of Government Ethics. The statement provides new insight into the extent of the president’s profits from his family’s crypto activities.
There it is recorded on several hundred pages that Trump and his clan earned a total of 1.4 billion dollars (1.23 billion euros) in 2025 alone, most of it from crypto transactions.
So Trump collected 635 million dollars with so-called Meme Coins. These are purely digital coins, imaginable as fun or commemorative coins. Such coins use images from the Internet and can be traded via special platforms. Shortly before his inauguration, Trump himself also launched and marketed a meme coin with his face called “$TRUMP”.
Added to this is Trump’s involvement „World Liberty Financial“, a company that deals with cryptocurrency. It brought in more than $500 million for the US president. The company was founded by, among others, Trump, his sons and the children of Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff.
The rest comes from Trump’s millions in income, for example from settlements with media companies or from licensing his name to international real estate developers.
The US business magazine Forbes Trump’s current fortune is at six billion dollars, so he’s lying low 691st richest person of the world. The only thing that is more notable is his rise in the ranking of the richest.
In 2025, his net worth will be according to Forbes „“First” amounted to 5.1 billion dollars, in 2024 – i.e. before his election victory on November 5, 2024 – Trump’s assets were only 2.3 billion dollars.
For comparison: The Bloomberg Billionaires Index Trump currently lists total assets of $7.6 billion.
But these numbers, like almost everything about Trump, are worth questioning, even if the White House praises itself for its comprehensive transparency in financial matters. For example, almost a month ago an extensive analysis was carried out by the news agency Reuters published that put the Trump family’s crypto income at $2.3 billion since he took office again.
The US government always rejects allegations of conflicts of interest. Critics say Trump’s government is pushing forward trading in digital currencies and has massively reduced regulations.
Just a few years ago, Donald Trump was against digital cryptocurrencies. Among other things, he said that they were not money, that their value was highly volatile and made out of thin air. In addition, unregulated crypto assets made it easier for illegal behavior such as drug trafficking. But his opinion completely changed during the election campaign with his support from tech billionaires like Elon Musk.
