The UK Maritime Trade Operations Office (UKMTO) said it had received reports of an incident approximately 122 km south of Balhaf, Yemen.
According to the report, several small boats approached the ship, carrying people armed with small arms. UKMTO clarified that, according to the crew, everyone on the ship is safe.
The name of the vessel, its flag and details of the incident have not yet been provided. The area off the coast of Yemen remains a high-risk area for shipping amid ongoing Houthi attacks on commercial shipping and warships in the Red Sea, Gulf of Aden and surrounding waters.
