On Sunday, seven buses are set to transport 500 citizens from Maripol

Seven buses will attempt to evacuate 500 citizens from the besieged Ukrainian city of Mariupol on Sunday, while the Red Cross attempts to re-enter the city with humanitarian aid following the failure of its first foray on Friday.

The buses are part of a Telegram-announced civil movement that, if successful, will transfer locals to Zaporizhia, where 100,000 people are still waiting for their turn in the siege-ravaged city.

The convoy could take use of an unique route for private transport departures announced by Ukraine’s Deputy Prime Minister, Irina Vereshchuk, on Saturday.

“Ukraine will undertake a new attempt to evacuate people from the besieged city of Mariupol this Sunday, accompanied by the Red Cross. Seven buses would attempt to enter the city “In a message on his Telegram channel, he claimed.

The International Committee of the Red Cross has been attempting all weekend to get permission to enter the city, which is one of Ukraine’s key war fronts, where an estimated 100,000 civilians remain besieged.
