The head of diplomacy of the European Union, Joseph Borel, has nominated the special envoy for the South Caucasus, Toivo Klaar, for the position of EU ambassador to Uzbekistan, the press service of the department reports.
It is reported that Klaar’s candidacy will be approved after the official approval of the Uzbekistan government.
The Estonian diplomat was appointed the European Union’s special representative for the South Caucasus and Georgia crisis in 2017, replacing Herbert Zalber in that position.
