Where the Wiener Schnitzel is currently the most expensive

According to the OGM, the schnitzel comes to 12.46 euros on average across Austria. It is relatively cheap at an average of 12.10 euros in the federal capital Vienna. A larger range of restaurants and offers for students made the prices in the cities lower than in the country, said Johannes Klotz from OGM. In Graz, a schnitzel costs 11.20 euros on average, in Klagenfurt it is 11.90 euros.

The most expensive schnitzel

The most expensive schnitzel are eaten in Vorarlberg, Tyrol and Salzburg, with OGM identifying the districts of Dornbirn (EUR 16.65), Bludenz (EUR 16) and Schwaz (EUR 15.50) as the front runners. The cheapest pork or chicken schnitzel with a side dish is in Jennersdorf in Burgenland (8.85 euros), in Eisenstadt (9.20 euros) and in Güssing (9.40 euros).
