Estampa will bring together more than fifty galleries from September 24 to 27 in its 34th edition

The Estampa fair will celebrate its 34th edition from September 24 to 27 at Ifema Madrid with the participation of more than fifty galleries selected by the Curatorial Technical Committee, which has opted to reinforce the presence of projects linked to contemporary art and emerging galleries.

As reported by Ifema Madrid in a statement, the general program will once again bring together some of the main galleries on the national scene, among others, 1MiraMadrid (Madrid), Max Estrella (Madrid), Espacio Mínimo (Madrid), Cayón (Madrid, Menorca, Manila), Moisés Pérez de Albéniz (Madrid), Poligrafa (Barcelona), Rio & Meñaka (Madrid), Álvaro Alcázar (Madrid) or ArtNueve (Murcia).

Likewise, there will be space for the new generation, with centers such as Arniches 26 (Madrid), Art as Experience (Las Palmas de GC), Lariot Collective (Madrid), Marquesa (Madrid), Victor Lope (Barcelona), Gärna (Madrid) or Villazán (Madrid).

For its part, the curated section ‘Ensayo Futuro’, directed by Jesús Alcaide, will be dedicated to promoting projects created in Spain in recent years and giving visibility to galleries and emerging spaces. On this occasion, Enhorabuena Espacio (Madrid), Lapislázuli (Madrid), E Ciento Veinte (Madrid), Panarteria (Madrid), Garaje Bonilla (Madrid), Ilgaz Yildiz Gallery (Madrid), Arias Rego (Madrid) and Project Space AP1 (Murcia) participate.

This section will be completed with ‘Interferences’, a reflection meeting on the evolution of new models of artistic creation and dissemination, which will feature the participation of invited European curators thanks to the support of the Department of Culture and Tourism of the Community of Madrid.

The organization has indicated that the Curatorial Technical Committee, made up of independent curators Violeta Janeiro, Jesús Alcaide, Lorena Marinez de Corral, Miguel Alvarez Fernández, Enrique Andrés Ruiz, Sema Dacosta and Alicia Ventura, has been in charge of selecting the participating projects and ensuring the quality of the artistic proposal of the fair.

For its part, the Board of Trustees of the Advisory Commission will continue to be made up of collectors Juan Antonio Rodriguez Deorador, Tanya Capriles (Brillemburg-Capriles Collection), Luis Caballero, Candela Álvarez Soldevilla (Studiolo Collection), Fernando Panizo (Tasman Projects), Juan Antonio Trujillo (OTR Collection), Manuel Navacerrada (Navacerrada Collection), Borja Fernández Cobaleda (Campocerrado Foundation) and Victorino Rosón Díez-Feijo (Aldebarán Collection).

ESTHER FERRER, GUEST ARTIST

As a guest artist for this edition, Estampa will have Esther Ferrer, who will present a work created specifically for the fair. Her consolidated career is associated with the minimalist movement of the early 1970s, as well as the feminist movements of that period. Furthermore, the artist was part of the ZAJ group founded by Walter Marchetti, Ramon Barce and Juan Hidalgo in 1964 and dissolved in 1996, an iconic group of happenings and performance in Spain.

In addition, Lorena Martínez de Corral will curate an exhibition dedicated to the artist with works belonging to private collectors residing in Spain.

The programming will once again include the ‘Collect’ program, which will develop various activities with the participation of curators, cultural managers, collectors and special guests, with the support of the Ministry of Culture and the support of the Banco Santander Foundation.
