Untold stories from Gaza or Mali come to the stage with Action Against Hunger

Action Against Hunger will bring to the stage of the Fernando de Rojas Theater of the Círculo de Bellas Artes ‘Stories that nourish’, a special edition of Diario Vivo that will be celebrated on October 16, World Food Day.

This was announced by the NGO, which has announced that, for 90 minutes, eight people linked to the NGO will share unpublished experiences and stories about their work in contexts of humanitarian emergency, social exclusion and the fight against hunger.

This proposal seeks to go beyond technical data to focus on the human dimension since, as the NGO has explained, “behind each mission there is much more than numbers.” “There are unexpected encounters, decisions that must be made in seconds, imaginative solutions when there seems to be no way out and people who end up changing the lives of others… and also their own,” he added.

Among the stories that will be presented on stage include the experience of an aid worker in the Darien jungle looking for colored pencils for a Venezuelan girl on the migratory route, or the work of a humanitarian team in Gaza trying to implement a program against malnutrition while local staff face extreme personal situations. An initiative in Mali will also be addressed where local women received cameras to portray their children and their daily lives, opening a debate about the power of narrating one’s own reality.

The show combines oral narration, stage journalism, live music and a staging designed to accompany each story. Diario Vivo prepares the stories together with those who tell them and presents them to the public.

“Its protagonists will not go on stage to summarize programs or present conclusions, but to reconstruct a specific episode in first person and share with the public what happened, what was at stake and what they learned from that moment,” the NGO has assured.

Tickets for the performance on October 16, at 9:30 p.m., are now on sale, with prices of 20, 22 and 24 euros depending on the location.
