This is how the star reacted to the new relationship of his famous ex-wife

Keith Urban is having trouble digesting the reports of his ex-wife Nicole Kidman’s new relationship with businessman Michael Reinstein. According to New Idea, the 58-year-old country star was “absolutely devastated” after photos were released showing Kidman, 59, close to Reinstein, holding hands and kissing him after her and Urban’s marriage ended.

“Until now, the door has been completely closed on everything related to his relationship with Nicole,” an insider claimed to the magazine. “But he still had hope that there might be a possibility of reconciliation. He is completely devastated and goes through the same feeling of deep loss again.”

According to the same source, the fact that Kidman seems to be moving on is also causing Urban to rethink his romantic life. “Seeing Nicole seemingly move on gives him permission to do the same,” the source said. However, he claimed that Urban is in no rush for a high-profile relationship and would prefer to keep his next romance away from the cameras: “Don’t be surprised if Keith comes out with his own ‘revenge romance’. He knows he has to move on.”

Let’s recall that the photos of Kidman and Reinstein were published in the Daily Mail, where the two were recorded on vacation on the Italian Riviera. A source close to Kidman told the Daily Mail: “After everything she’s been through with Keith, she deserves to find happiness.”

“She never thought that her marriage wouldn’t work, and she tried as much as she could to keep her family together,” added the same source. “Her daughters are her best friends, and she seems really content with her life. She’s very easy to get along with, and she’s kind. She keeps her personal life very private.”

Already in June there were reports that Kidman is romantically linked to a “senior businessman”. According to the gossip website DeuxMoi, the two have been making slow progress, and a source said at the time that “the relationship has been quietly developing for several months, and the two are keeping it very much under the radar and away from the public eye.” The vacation in Italy was also joined by Kidman’s daughters, Sunday Rose, 18, and Faith, 15, whom she shares with Urban.

Kidman and Urban were married for almost two decades. Their separation was revealed last September after 19 years of marriage, and the divorce was officially finalized in January, after according to Daily Mail sources their relationship ran aground in the summer of 2025 and the separation was a lengthy process. Shortly after the beginning of the new year, they reached an agreement that closed the divorce.

In an interview with Variety in March, Kidman talked about the breakup and said she was moving on. “What I’m thankful for is my family, and keeping it the way it is, and moving forward. That’s it,” she said. When asked if she was okay after the breakup, she answered: “Yes, because I will always move towards what is good.”
