Dortmund allows Adeyemi to negotiate his departure

Borussia Dortmund’s German winger Karim Adeyemi did not join preseason training this Sunday with permission from the German club to “negotiate” his departure, while some information places the attacker at FC Barcelona.

“Karim Adeyemi and Kjell Wätjen are missing physical and medical tests. Both players are exempt to negotiate with other clubs,” Dortmund wrote on their profile on the ‘X’ social network, on the day the club starts the preseason.

The German channel Sky and the newspaper Bild reported Barça’s interest in the German international, whose signing as a ‘Blaugrana’ would be very advanced. According to these sources, Dortmund and the Catalan team would have agreed on a transfer of 22 million euros plus 7 million euros in bonuses, with a contract until 2031.

The contract of Adeyemi, 24, extends until the end of the 2026-27 season and he had already informed the club of his desire to leave, so a transfer in this summer market would prevent the player from leaving for free next summer.
