Iran and Qatar to sign a deal to build a tunnel under the Persian Gulf

Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi arrived in Qatar for talks with Emir Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani and to attend a summit of gas exporting countries. He is accompanied by a representative delegation.

As a result of the negotiations, several cooperation agreements will be signed. The most important of them involves the construction of a tunnel under the Persian Gulf, linking the two states. Two agreements relate to the development of maritime trade, one – to aviation.

“This visit is a step towards intensifying diplomacy between neighbors, primarily the states of the Persian Gulf, in order to develop both political and economic ties,” Raisi said before the flight.
