In the last day, a document was published about a violent incident that took place about three months ago on the island of Shirgao in the Philippines, in which an Israeli is seen confronting a foreign tourist and succeeding in pinning him to the floor.
The person recorded in the video is Uriah, a reserve fighter in the paratroopers, a resident of the Horns of Samaria. “I flew on a big trip to the East together with two friends from the military service,” says Oriya in a conversation with mako. “We traveled in Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia and other places, and at some point we split up.”
After the split, Uriah arrived, along with friends he met during the trip to the Philippines. One night, on Shirgao Island, after he decided to leave a local party and made his way on foot to the villa where they were staying, he entered the bathroom of a local cafe. “I knew the place and had already been there several times,” says Oriya. “After I entered the cafe, there was a Spanish tourist there who looked at me from the first moment I entered and just approached me with a threatening look. He followed me to the bathroom and asked where I was from. I asked him why he was interested, and then he started ranting and shouted: ‘Answer me’. I told him I was Israeli, and then he shouted: ‘Get out of here’.”
Uriah decided not to confront the Spanish tourist so as not to get into trouble. “I had already heard quite a few stories about Israelis who got into trouble in the Philippines, and I wanted to end the trip well and quietly, without problems. I decided at that moment to leave and not get into an argument with the Spaniard, who was also too big.”
On his way out, Sephardi continued to tease Oriya and tried to drag him into a confrontation. “I told him that there were cameras in the place and that everything was recorded, and that I wasn’t looking for trouble. But he continued with his threatening attitude, and at one point he also approached me and put his hand on me. At the same time, he said that I was a ‘child killer’ and threatened that he was going to blow me up with blows.”
At this point, when the two are already outside the cafe, the Spaniard attacked Uria. “He tried to punch me, and then we started to confront. I managed to captivate him and told him that he got into big trouble and that he made a mistake when he messed with me. He begged me to let him go, and the workers at the cafe called the police.”
About 10 minutes later, a local police car arrived and arrested the Spanish tourist. At the same time, the police asked Oriya to accompany them to the police station to give his version of the incident. “I told them exactly what happened, and everything was documented. I was defending myself, I didn’t want to attack him, but it was pure self-defense. The police asked if I wanted to file a complaint against him. I said that as far as I was concerned, he should apologize publicly for everything he did and the things he said. He apologized to me and to the police and said he drank too much.”
