The Lebanese television channel Al-Manar, associated with the Hezbollah terrorist organization, reported that an assassination attempt was made on Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
According to the report, the attempt to kill Assad was made when he was on his way to the mosque to participate in prayers for the Eid el-Fiter holiday.
Judging by the publications in the Syrian media showing Assad in the mosque, the assassination attempt was unsuccessful.
